                  Birch Aquarium is geared towards providing ocean science education, to interpret Scrips Institution of Oceanography research, and to promote ocean conservation. Explore where the wonders of the ocean come alive, it is the best place to learn all about the research done by the Scrips Institution of Oceanography. Here you can see there are lots of beautiful and unique fish tanks, many featuring fish found in the ocean just off-shore.  In addition to the fish tanks, there are interpretive displays on such things as earthquakes, ocean conservation, and much more. Birch Aquarium at Scrips is the public exploration center perched on a bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
