Henson Robinson Zoo, Savings and Zoo Park Description for 2024


The Henson Robinson Zoo is connected to the Springfield Park District. Those who built the zoo began building it between 1968 to 1970 and the zoo owners finally opened the doors to it in 1970. This zoo is an accredited member of the AZA, Association of Zoos and Aquariums. Since 2009, the amount of animal specimens this zoo houses equaled to more than 300 which represent more than 90 different species.

The Henson Robinson Zoo is a non-profit zoo and holds special events as well as allows parties and rentals. The parties and rentals include group camp-outs, birthday parties, and after hours rentals. Anyone can also become a member of the zoo which costs a membership fee. However, it also allows for free admission year round to the zoo. An individual membership costs $30, a family membership costs $50 and a lifetime membership costs $500.
