The Lincoln Park Zoo sits on 35 acres and is one of the oldest zoos in the United States since it was founded in 1868. The zoo is an accredited member of the AZA, also known as the Association of Zoos and Aquariums and is a free admission zoo. This zoo is home to many different animals with some including big cats, polar bears, penguins, reptiles, gorillas, monkeys, and more. The total amount of animals equals to 1,100 with over 200 different species. This zoo holds events including calendar events, private events, field trips, and even camps. Lincoln Park Zoo also holds educational events and programs for teachers as well as a learning center for everyone to enjoy.
