Indianapolis Zoo, Savings and Zoo Description for 2025


The Indianapolis Zoo opened its doors in April of 1964 and is actually the only zoo that is accredited by both the Association of Zoos and Aquariums and the American Alliance of Museums as a zoo, an aquarium, and a botanical garden. Although it opened in 1964 on East 30th Street in Indianapolis, Indiana, its current home is in White River State Park which opened in 1988 and sits on 64 acres of land. This zoo holds many events and programs including private group events and calendar events. It is so big it has forest and oceans. Upcoming expansions include the International Orangutan Exhibit and even rides to enjoy including Kombo Family Coaster, White River Junction Train Ride, and the Endangered Species Carousel.
