The David Traylor Zoo of Emporia has free admission. Visitors can walk through to see the smaller animals and can also walk across the street if they wish to see the bigger animals. People can also drive by and see the bigger animals even if the zoo is closed. It is a part of Soden’s Grove Park which has a small train that runs during the summer. This zoo is an accredited zoo of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums. It is actually one of the smallest zoos in the country.

Visitors can see exhibits of exotic and native birds and animals. Some of the animals include reptiles, badgers, llamas, hedgehogs, deer, bison, and more. This zoo also has the Preston Forest Adventure where visitors can see owls, opossums, and raccoons. There are many programs and a calendar of events here as well for visitors to enjoy.
