Kentucky Down Under, Savings and Zoo Park Description for 2024


Kentucky Down Under opened its doors under this name in 1990. However, it was once known as Mammoth Onyx Cave when it first opened in 1920. It was later named Kentucky Cavern. At this time, Peacocks as well as other small animals were added for the park visitors to be able to enjoy while they were on their cave tours.

Years later, in 1970, a herd of American Bison were added. 20 years later, in 1990, Australian animals were added when it was named Kentucky Down Under and opened for the public to enjoy by Bill and Judy Austin. These days, the animal park is open year round where visitors can enjoy not only the animals here but group and educational events as well.

Individual Pass:

Adult: $49.95

Students/Seniors: $45.95

Child (3-13): $34.95

Family Pass:

2 Adults and 2 Children (3-13): $149.95 

Option A – 2 named adults plus 2 children

Option B – 1 named adult and 1 unnamed plus 2 children

You can add an adult to the Family Pass for $24.95, add a child for $18.95 or add a student/senior for $22.95.

Your Season Pass includes the following:

  • 10% off Gift Shop purchases, including fudge.
  • 10% off Café purchases.
  • 1 Snowy River Range ticket per person on pass.
