The Franklin Park Zoo sits on 72 acres of land and opened its doors in 1912. The zoo section is located within the park. This zoo was accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums and has been since 1990. Although the zoo has had its share of financial problems, it has never had to close because of it. Some of the exhibits include the Tropical Rain Forest, the Children’s Zoo, the Bird’s World, and much more. This zoo has many different programs and events for the public to enjoy.
