The Binder Park Zoo opened its doors in 1977 and sits on 433 acres of land. Not only is it one of the largest zoos in Michigan but it also features a large variety of different plants and animals. Visitors can also ride a tram and a train, a carousel, and visit the Wildlife Discovery Center. Not only is this zoo an accredited member of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums as well as an accredited member of the World Associations of Zoos and Aquariums. Visitors can see a wide variety of animals and can participate in many educational programs.
