Kansas City Zoological Park opened its doors in 1909 and sits on 202 acres of land. The zoo houses over 1,300 animals and is an accredited member of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums. This zoo was named one of the best zoos in the United States as of 2008. The zoos mission is to educate and entertain visitors of all ages as well as to protect the animals. The zoo offers many educational resources, field trips, and programs and events. This zoo also has many attractions which some include African animals, Asian animals, Zoo kids zone, and much more.
