Pioneers Park Nature Center, Savings and Zoo Park Description for 2023

Pioneers Park Nature Center currently sits on 668 acres of land and was started in 1963. It is operated by the Lincoln Parks and Recreation Center. Their mission has always been and always will be to increase quality with youth development. Much of the 668 acres consists of wetlands, a stream, tallgrass prairie, and woodlands.

This nature center has eight miles of hiking trails where visitors can actually walk through natural habitats of the animals. Some of the exhibits include elk, deer, bison, and raptors. There are also small buildings that house other exhibits small animal exhibits. There is also a place for children to dig, build, and climb.
