Abilene Zoological Gardens is a small zoo located in Abilene, Texas. It is accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA). It houses over 1,000 animals from around the globe. The zoo features a herpetarium called the “Creepy Crawler Center”, a Tropical Aviary, and an Elm Creek Backyard where you can observe cougars, coyotes and porcupines. It boasts its Wetland Boardwalk, an elevated boardwalk where you can closely observe animals that inhabit the wetlands.
